Former SAP president joins National Australia Bank Board

NAB owns Yorkshire and Clydesdale banks in the UK

National Australia Bank (NAB), which owns Yorkshire and Clydesdale banks, has appointed a former president of SAP for North America to its board.

Geraldine McBride is joining the board as a non-executive director from 4 March. The bank hopes to benefit from the New Zealander's technology industry and international business experience.

Clydesdale and Yorkshire banks have suffered from numerous technological problems over the past few years, affecting customer access to online bank accounts and customers' ability to use debit cards.

At SAP, McBride also had executive-level roles in Asia-Pacific and Japan. She helped develop SAP's mobile and cloud solutions in her posting in North America. Prior to joining the German software company, she had senior roles with Dell and IBM.

McBride, whose technology career spans 26 years, founded MyWave last year, a software and services company that is designed to 'turn the old world of CRM on its head' by putting the customer in charge of their data and experience. MyWave links customers with their trusted brands and their securely-stored data is only released to companies they choose to do business with.
