New Zealand-based cloud technology integrator ViFX has parted ways with CEO Andrew Fox, 17 months after hiring him for the role.
A source close to Computerworld New Zealand says the former lead of IBM’s global technology services will depart the company in the near future, following his appointment to the then, newly created role, in January 2014.
“We can indeed confirm that CEO, Andrew Fox, is leaving ViFX at the end of this week,” says a spokesperson for ViFX, when replying to email questions from Computerworld New Zealand.
“A month or so back our Board of Directors took the decision to rationalise the leadership of the company and disestablish the Chief Executive role, allowing for the founding-directors, Geoff Olliff and Derek Leitch to resume day to day leadership and operations of the ViFX group of businesses.
“Over the past 12 months and with Andrew’s leadership, ViFX has proudly experienced increased revenues, close to $20M for FY15.
“We have seen solid growth across our portfolio of service capabilities including cloud and virtual infrastructure, data centre consulting and services, IT Service Management, Managed Infrastructure Services and cloud-generation solutions.”
According to ViFX, Fox leaves the company “on excellent terms with good friendships intact.”
In his previous role as the GM of global technology services at IBM, Fox lead a team of around 500 staff providing data centre hosting, IT outsourcing, cloud, implementation and maintenance services to New Zealand businesses.
At the time of his appointment in January 2014, ViFX owner and managing director Geoff Olliff told Computerworld New Zealand that Fox’s appointment “represents the culmination of a search for a CEO with the experience and capability to lead the next phase of development and growth for ViFX.”
“In Andrew, we have secured a proven technology leader who can build high performing teams and grow strong customer relationships,” he said at the time.
“He brings a track record of building and growing a successful organisation in our industry, market segments and through the channels that are most relevant to ViFX."
