CIO-plus: New CIOs at Beca, Fonterra and Hawkins Group

“If you are a CIO to be popular, then you are probably in the wrong job,” says Robin Johansen, who
reflects on his time as CIO for 13 years at Beca Group.

Johansen and his family are moving to Nelson, where he will be working on a range of ICT projects as an independent consultant and company director. He will also continue to be involved in mentoring programmes for youth and ICT professionals.

Chris Barendregt leaves CIO role at Fonterra, and Carl Moore will head IS functions and the delivery of the global systems transformation at the dairy company.

Hannes Van Zyl moves to Hawkins Group. He reports to group CEO Geoff Hunt, who held the same role at Kordia, where Van Zyl was CIO.

Former MetService CIO Alistair Vickers joins Vector Group as information technology manager for Advanced Metering Services.
