  • Air New Zealand taps Gen-i for additional datacentres

    Air New Zealand has chosen Gen-u to deliver its datacentre and network infrastructure.
    The agreement covers voice and data network services worldwide, and 24x7x365 day support and project services across all of Air New Zealand's global and domestic locations, according to a press statement issued by Gen-i.

  • Gen-i yet to land Air NZ

    A multimillion-dollar deal under which Air New Zealand would outsource the hosting of its mainframes to Telecom's Gen-i has not yet moved beyond a memorandum of understanding that was leaked in June, sources say.
    IBM currently houses the systems at an ageing facility in Auckland that was originally built by Air NZ and later transferred to the vendor.

  • Travelling targets

    Along with the imminent opening of its upgraded and expanded international terminal, Sydney Airport now has a new business analysis system, one that allows its management to understand much more than just the comings and goings of passengers.
    The new system has given the business a better understanding of customer needs and preferences and will help to grow revenue not just for the corporation, but for the 500 other businesses operating at the airport.

  • Air New Zealand broadens Gen-i contract

    Gen-i has signed an agreement with Air New Zealand to extend its existing telecommunications network partnership. The deal means the airline is now one of Gen-i's 10 largest customers.
    The telecommunications company will provide data and voice network services to the airline’s 85 global and 69 domestic branches.

  • Air New Zealand, Tex Edwards collect major TUANZ awards

    The Telecommunications Users Association of New Zealand has delivered its annual awards, with Air New Zealand the big winner and 2 Degrees' founder Tex Edwards collecting the chairman's award.
    If there was a theme of the awards, held in partnership with IDC and major sponsor Voco, this year it was that while broadband and telecommunications infrastructure are vital, it's the applications that use such infrastructure that deliver real economic benefits.
