Chris Trigg takes up new role at IAG

Chris Trigg is moving to multinational insurance company IAG as executive general manager - technology operations, risk and controls.

Trigg joins the Group Technology Leadership Team and will be accountable for technology operations across the Group and lead NZ business partnering.

He commences his new role in August.

For the past three years, Trigg was with Southern Cross Health Society as its first chief digital officer.

Prior to this, he was chief information officer at Genesis Energy and spent seven years at Air New Zealand in a range of business technology roles including acting CIO and GM group IT production.

Trigg was in the top 10 of the 2019 CIO50, the annual report on NZ’s most innovative CIOs, CTOs and CDOs.

Speaking at the CIO50 breakfast forum in Auckland, Trigg shares his insights on embracing a digital-first ethos, working with disruptive technologies, and taking a persistent focus on both internal and external customers.

He says a key lesson learned as the digital model matures in the organisation is the importance of having a clear strategy.

“Having a clear north star has been vital to helping us set clarity throughout the organisation.”
