Air New Zealand has appointed Jennifer Sepull as chief digital officer.

Sepull is currently a member of the technical advisory group for the London Stock Exchange.

Her previous roles include CIO for USAA Financial Services, Kimberly-Clark and Honda Motor Corporation in the United States.

She has also worked at IBM and in various startup organisations. She has served on several customer advisory boards, including IBM and with Gartner.

Sepull is the second CDO at Air New Zealand.

She takes over from Avi Golan, who was ranked number one in the 2018 CIO100 report on the most transformative technology and digital leaders in New Zealand.

Golan returned to the United States at the end of October last year after nearly three years as the airline’s first chief digital officer.

Sepull will join CEO Christopher Luxon's executive team in May.

She brings more than 20 years of digital and technology leadership experience from around the globe to the airline.

"Air New Zealand is one of the world's best airlines and an outstanding digital strategy and leadership are absolutely critical to maintaining that position and capitalising on many of the opportunities ahead,” says Luxon, in a statement.

“We are thrilled to have someone of Sepull's standing choose to make New Zealand home and to join us in helping supercharge our airline and nation's success.”

Sepull says she is excited to join Air New Zealand, which has been regularly recognised as the best in the world.

"Technology is at the core of enabling growth, simplification, and an outstanding customer experience,” she says.

“I look forward to working with Air New Zealand's executive and digital teams on this next exciting chapter in the airline's history."
