Qrious appoints David Leach as CEO

Orion Health executive replaces Ed Hyde, now CEO of Spark Ventures

David Leach will become CEO of Qrious, the specialist data and analytics business owned by Spark, in January 2017.

The appointment comes after Qrious CEO Ed Hyde was promoted to the same role at Spark Ventures.

Leach will be joining Qrious from Orion Health, where he has held a number of different roles over the past nine years, most recently senior vice president - enterprise HIS.

He has been a member of Orion’s Executive Leadership Team, with global responsibility for a number of Orion’s products.

Hyde, in a statement, says Leach is an "exceptional leader with a wealth of experience gained in one of New Zealand’s most successful high tech software companies, Orion Health.

“His skills and experience align perfectly with what we were looking for in a CEO at Qrious; someone who can continue to drive its strong growth trajectory and harness the enormous possibilities of big data and analytics to create significant value for customers.”

“We are only just starting to see the possibilities afforded by big data and data analytics to help business and the world around us," says Leach, on his appointment.

“The incredible talent at Qrious, combined with great technology and data, places Qrious in a superb position to innovate with speed and drive positive, data-driven change for its customers.”

Leach is a qualified engineer and software developer, who moved into professional consulting and sales, and eventually found his passion in technology innovation and product leadership.
