St John has appointed Cameron Brill as chief information officer.

Brill came from the Auckland International Airport, where he was head of IT for over seven years.

During his tenure at the Auckland International Airport, Brill and his team worked on a vast number of technology projects in the operational and digital areas of the business.

The scope and role of St John CIO remains the same, reporting into St John Chief Executive Officer, Peter Bradley.

Watch: Mission Critical ICT at St John

Brill tells CIO New Zealand he is looking forward to working at St John, which has consistently been voted the most trusted charity in the Readers’ Digest Most Trusted Brands Awards.

St John is the largest primary healthcare provider in New Zealand and delivers emergency ambulance services to 90 per cent of the country.

“It is rewarding to work in the health sector,” adds Brill, whose previous roles included Group IT manager at Freshmax, ICT manager at Standard and Poor’s, and IT project manager at KLM.

At St John, Brill will be leading a team of 50 staff managing over 3650 screens, according to the 2016 CIO100 report on the top ICT using organisations in New Zealand.
