IBM New Zealand managing director Rob Lee moving to new role

Mike T. Smith of Spark Digital to take on post before the yearend

IBM New Zealand will have a new managing director at the end of the year, as Rob Lee has announced he is moving to a new role in the company, CIO New Zealand has learned.

He will be replaced by Mike T. Smith, currently GM cloud and sourcing at Spark Digital.

Smith’s previous roles included CEO at Oxygen Business Solutions and director, advisory board, at Revera.

His LinkedIn profile shows he was with IBM in 1992 to 1999, as sales executive, general manager South Island and director, M and A and strategic alliances.

Lee became IBM managing director in May 2013. Before that, he was the inaugural managing director of IBM's Westpac Integrated Account, which was formed in April 2008. He also held the role of director, financial services sector for Australia and New Zealand at IBM, according to his LinkedIn profile.
