Datacom transitions $242 million ICT contract to Australia’s Department of Health

Datacom has reported it has successfully completed hand over of all ICT infrastructure and support services to the Australian Government's Department of Health as part of its $242 million support services contract.

The five-year year contract, awarded to Datacom in March this year, departs from traditional IT services outsourcing contracts.

In a statement, Datacom explains the contract is constructed solely around an outcomes-based, fully managed consumption-based pricing model that provides it with the autonomy to deliver a system that best fits the needs of the department.

For this contract, Datacom says it has a dedicated team based at the Department of Health in Canberra, while service desk services are provided out of Datacom’s office in Queensland.

Datacom says its portfolio of federal government clients now includes CrimTrac, the Department of the Environment, the Australian Taxation Office, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the National Health and Medical Research Council and Airservices Australia.
