Datacom a standout in tech exporters list

Tops list of ten 'Ones to Watch.'

Datacom has ranked second in the sixth annual TIN (Technology Investment Network) 100 list of globally-focused technology companies and topped the a list of ten “Ones to Watch”.

For the financial year ended March, Datacom recorded revenues of $667 million, up 10 percent on last year and significantly more than the $450 million it achieved in 2008.

Revera and Optimation also featured in the top 100 with Revera taking number 43 and Optimation number 46.

“There is a definitive pattern showing year on year, that the technology sector is enjoying greater growth than many other New Zealand industries,” says TIN managing director Greg Shanahan.

Shanahan says the sector has been resilient and and is increasingly less dependent on a few large players.

This year, TIN100-listed companies had total revenues of $6.7 billion and $4.9 billion of exports.
