Due to high demand for nominations in the CIO50 list, we are extending the deadline for entries to Monday, December 16.
So you now have more time to tell us your story of transformation, innovation and leadership.
All too often the CIO voice gets lost in the shuffle - with some incredible stories of change management and visionary projects not being shared or recognised.
Let’s change that: it is time to enter a nomination and be part of the CIO New Zealand programme that will celebrate and recognise the CIO community for their outstanding achievements in delivering transformation.
recognises New Zealand's 50 most innovative and effective CIOs or heads of technology who are influencing rapid change across their organisations; and
applauds those who are leading the IT function and driving innovative technology-driven projects that have completely transformed business processes.
Nomination questions showcase two key pillars: business transformation; and leadership.
A separate award will recognise the leading organisation that has developed a technology-enabled initiative that helped address a community or social issue.

So, what will the judges be looking for as standout entries?
“The CIO50 is seeking to understand the business transformative initiative that has been undertaken or delivered under your leadership,” says one of the judges, Victor Vae’au, co-founder of Sterling Group and a former CIO for the NZ Defence Force.
Having a clear understanding of the business challenge - and therefore benefits - related to the outcome is critical for judging, he says.
“What was the big picture when considering this? Was it successful? What challenges required your leadership? How were the stakeholders managed? What would you do differently next time?”
