Fuji Xerox formally suspended from All-of-Government contract

Is also terminated from the Office Supplies contract, but says it is committed to rebuilding trust and long-term relationship with Government

Fuji Xerox New Zealand (FXNZ) has been formally suspended from the Print Technology and Associated Services (PTAS) contract and terminated from the Office Supplies contract.

“Effective immediately, the suspension from PTAS prevents FXNZ signing up new business with agencies (including state schools),” says John Ivil, general manager of New Zealand Government procurement.

Ivil says FXNZ is required to continue to meet its commitments to public sector agencies for existing agreements under the PTAS contract.

The formal suspension will only be lifted once certain requirements are met by FXNZ. The details of those will not be made public, he says.

“In relation to the Office Supplies contract, agencies will be able to choose from other suppliers on the panel to meet their ongoing needs.”

There are 93 agencies who are currently customers of FXNZ through the All-of-Government contracts, who have been notified of this outcome.

FXNZ says it will continue to proactively offer products and services to all non-Government customers in the marketplace and is confident that it will be able to satisfy Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) that the issues in question are historical and resume its usual business with eligible agencies in the near future

“We remain committed to working with Government and to regaining and rebuilding trust with all of our stakeholders,” says Peter Thomas, managing director for Fuji Xerox New Zealand.

“MBIE has given FXNZ clarity on what is required for us to achieve this as well as their requirements to lift the suspension. We are taking this seriously and are committed to rebuilding our trust and long term relationship with Government.”

FXNZ says it has less than 1 per cent of the share of the Office Supplies contract, so termination from this agreement has little or no impact to its business operations.

FXNZ has the full resources and capabilities to meet all current needs, and there will be no disruption to eligible agencies who are already receiving products and services from FXNZ under the AoG contracts.
