David Kennedy takes on new global CIO role

David Kennedy is now the chief information officer of Transaction Services Group, a global payment solutions provider with headquarters in Auckland.

It is the second global CIO role for Kennedy who was previously CIO at Orion Health. The TSG role covers companies in the UK, Australia, US and NZ.

“I am joining Transaction Services Group at a very important and exciting time,” Kennedy tells CIO New Zealand.

“As my second CIO role in a growing technology company I plan to leverage my experience as much as possible to provide yet another Kiwi success story with further growth," says Kennedy.

TSG is the parent company of leading direct debit billing solutions providers: Debitsuccess which operates across USA, New Zealand and Australia; FFA Paysmart in Australia; and United Kingdom-based companies, DFC and Harlands Group.

He notes that TSG is number 30 in the 2015 Technology Investment Network’s TIN100 Report, a list of New Zealand’s most successful, globally focused technology businesses. TSG joined the TIN100 list for the first time in 2011, placing just outside the top 50.

Kennedy is a member of the editorial advisory board of CIO New Zealand. He is a director for Computer Culture (a Christchurch-based company), an advisory member for the Future CIO Programme at the University of Auckland and Cucumber (a digital company in Tauranga); and advisory council member for Beyond Trust, an American security product company.

TSG CEO Craig Marshall also announced other executive appointments at TSG: Steven Holmes is moving from CIO to chief operating officer; Ian Jones as CEO America; and Davin Miller, current CEO of Debitsuccess Australasia, for the new role of TSG CEO Australasia. He will be responsible for both Debitsuccess and PaySmart businesses across Australia and New Zealand.
