Dimension data to provide desktop as a service for government

Crown Law Office among first to move to cloud-based 3D Workspace.

Dimension Data New Zealand is now part of the all-of-government desktop-as-a-service panel, through its cloud-based 3D Workspace.

“Our inclusion on the all-of-government panel provides us with a great opportunity to work with government organisations to take the stress away from buying, building, installing and operating computer hardware and software,” Simon Gillespie, Dimension Data New Zealand CEO, said in a press statement.

He said the system can be scaled up and down to meet the evolving requirements of both the user and the business. This will allow organisations to provide better flexibility for staff, and integrate the virtual desktop experience with that of the traditional desktop.

Crown Law Office is one of the government agencies moving its desktop platform to 3D Workspace.

“Our Crown Counsel will now have the ability to securely access our corporate desktop from iPads, as well as on traditional desktops, giving them the ability to work collaboratively and more effectively throughout our office, as well as in the courtroom or client’s place of work,” Hayley Carthy, Crown Law CIO, was quoted as saying in the press statement..
