Aaron Olphert is new CTO at Kordia NZ

Aaron Olphert is the new chief technology officer at Kordia NZ.

Aaron Olphert is the new chief technology officer at Kordia NZ.

It is a new role, created following the restructuring of Kordia which saw Geoff Hunt leaving as Group CEO and appointment of Scott Bartlett and Peter Robson as CEO respectively, for New Zealand and Australia.

Meanwhile, Thomas Salmen, CTO of Kordia before the restructuring early this year, has joined Telecom New Zealand as ‘tech wizard’ and is part of the Digital Ventures Team headed by Rod Snodgrass. The business unit was formed in early 2013 to look at new technologies.

Olphert was previously Kordia’s head of business and market strategy. He joined Kordia in 1993 and has worked across operational, technical and commercial areas of the business in the past 20 years. He has an MBA from the University of Auckland and an electronics engineering qualification.

“Aaron brings a wealth of local knowledge and experience to the CTO role,” says Scott Bartlett, CEO of Kordia, in a press statement. “His broad understanding of telecommunication and broadcast technologies combined with his energy, passion and pragmatism add real value to our team.”
