Intergen achieves SharePoint Elite status

First local partner to pass programme

Microsoft partner Intergen has become the first reseller to pass the locally developed Sharepoint Elite programme. SharePoint is Microsoft’s business collaboration software. As reported by Reseller News in September last year, several companies including Datacom, Provoke, Information Leadership and Fujitsu are taking part in the training. According to Microsoft, Datacom is also close to achieving Elite status.

The Elite programme certifies SharePoint partners in four key areas separated into two streams. Two of these – infrastructure and development – have a technology focus, while the other two – information architecture and end-user engagement, are centered around business needs.

To qualify, a partner needs to be registered in the Microsoft Partner Network and take at least six staff through an examination programme.

Partners can specialise in the technical skills, the business aspects, or both, and at least three staff are required to train in each of the four areas.

Intergen director of marketing Wayne Forgesson says the status recognises its position as one of the best proven SharePoint partners in the marketplace.

“The Elite badge is one that we’ll wear proudly, and anticipate will open new business opportunities for us as a leader in Microsoft solutions.”

He adds that the SharePoint Elite initiative provides surety that Intergen continues to provide the best resources possible for maximum return on customers’ IT investments.
