Kansas City International Airport has chosen Gentrack software for its multiple user flight information display system (MUFIDS)and airport operational database. Gentrack has developed the 20/20 Airport Management System. The 20/20 MUFIDS and IED Audio Paging System upgrade will be implemented in three months with all current LED and LCD display equipment being retained throughout the airport. The system will be installed on servers running Microsoft Windows Server and Oracle database technology, Gentrack says.
Nigel Farley, Airport 20/20 general manager, says the project involves integrating the Gentrack system with a large number of other systems at the airport via the 20/20 Message Broker.
Farley says the 20/20 solution is already being used in more than 100 airports across the globe.
Kansas City International Airport is one of the largest airports in the US, serving more than 11 million passengers between mid-America and other US and international destinations via 23 airlines. Farley says the airport went to market in early 2009 looking for a “mature, stable, proven reliable world-class system” to support its terminal services strategy.
