Heart Foundation head of information technology services Paul Natac says the organisation was ripe for digital transformation that would consolidate many legacy functions and automate manual systems.

In the past two years, his team has upgraded IT devices and enabled corporate mobile devices for all staff members. They have deployed Microsoft technologies such as SharePoint, one drive, teams, yammer etc., to enable staff to effectively collaborate and consolidate data to deliver business solutions efficiently.

“The IT technology upgrade enabled the staff members in delivering better solutions and in meeting the organisational objectives. Moreover, it increased the mobility of the team members so that they were able to work close with their communities and at early learning centres,” Natac says.

Meanwhile, his team has developed new business solutions such as Myheartcheck, BambooHR, IPayroll, and an e-learning portal that has added value in delivering the organisational goals.Another major initiative was the cyber security transformation to uplift the IT security aspects to securely deliver the business solutions, Natac says.

“Myheartcheck tool is a publicly available free online tool that was designed and created by the organisation that creates awareness of heart health and offers tips to manage the risk of heart disease,” Natac says.

“The security transformation helped the organisation in securing the assets and organisational information. We introduced multi factor authentication which helped the organisation in preventing the cyber threats and in securing the users profile and organisational data.”

Effective stakeholder management

Natac plays a key role as part of the executive team by working closely with board members, leadership teams and the business in order to help them understand the importance of digital transformation, and cyber security by showcasing the substantial benefits to the business in achieving the organisational goals.

He also played a vital role in delivering the projects by making key decisions in choosing the technologies, tools in order to deliver the right technology solutions. Natac guided the project management team and technology team in the right direction to align to the organisation’s strategy to meet the KPIs.
