GOVERNMENT-OWNED AGRESEARCH’S PURPOSE is to enhance the value, productivity and profi tability of New Zealand’s pastoral, agri-food and agri-technology sectors.
The Crown Research Institute supports the pastoral sector through scientific research and development, and ultimately aims to contribute to economic growth.
The pastoral sector generates export revenues of more than $18.6 billion per year, says AgResearch. The organisation provides research and transfer of technology and knowledge in partnership with key stakeholders.
AgResearch will continue exploring investment into the areas of cloud computing and SaaS, mobility and BYOD, security, unified communications, VoIP, knowledge management, as well as business continuity and DR over the course of the year, says CIO Michael Sheehan.
The IT team will also start new projects in virtualisation and business intelligence/analytics in the coming months.
